Our Story

What started as a passing joke—“we should open a fabric store if JoAnn’s ever closes”—slowly grew into something more serious. When those closures became a reality, we realized it was time to stop asking “should we?” and finally say “let’s do it.”

But the closing of big-box fabric stores wasn’t our true reason for creating Sew Haven. The real reason runs much deeper. As two cosplayers and seamstresses, we knew the challenges of finding quality fabrics, trims, and tools locally. We knew the frustration of hunting for inspiration in aisles that didn’t quite fit our craft. And we knew the value of having a place where makers could feel seen, supported, and connected.

That’s why we built Sew Haven: not just as a store, but as a sanctuary. A space where creativity thrives, where every stitch matters, and where makers of all backgrounds and skill levels can find both the materials and the community they need to bring their visions to life.
