Stash Bash
Reduce • Reuse • Restash
Stash Bash is Sew Haven’s community-driven fabric recycle and trade-in program designed for cosplayers, sewists, and makers who want to reduce waste, refresh their stash, and give quality fabric a new life.
Bring in your clean, usable cosplay, fashion and apparel fabrics and receive store credit for what we can accept. Every yard helps us support sustainable creativity and keeps fabric out of landfills.
How It Works
Bring it in: Bring your clean, folded fabric (minimum 1-yard cuts) and any notions you wish to trade.
We’ll inspect: Staff reviews your items for quality and verifies yardage (rounded down).
Earn credit: You’ll receive an instant gift card for accepted materials.
Shop smart: Use your store credit on anything in the store.
Keep it going: Up to 20 yards/$30 in credit per person.
Donation Option
If you’d rather give your materials outright, you can opt to donate your stash instead of receiving store credit.
Please note: Sew Haven LTD is not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are not tax-deductible under IRS guidelines.

What We Can’t Take
Fabric Types We Can’t Accept
Upholstery, tapestry, drapery, or heavy canvas — too bulky for apparel or cosplay projects.
Home décor textiles (curtains, tablecloths, slipcovers, etc.) — often treated or stiffened with coatings.
Quilting cottons, calicos, fleece, and felt — outside the scope of apparel/cosplay/fashion use.
Vinyl tablecloth fabric, oilcloth, or utility plastic — contains coatings that deteriorate over time.
Novelty craft fabrics (holiday prints, children’s character panels, licensed quilting motifs) — not suited for garment applications.
Condition & Age Restrictions
Extremely old, brittle, or sun-damaged material that has weakened fibers or discoloration.
Pre-cut pattern pieces, half-finished projects, or scraps under one yard in size.
Fabric with strong odors, visible stains, mold, or heavy pet hair.
Wrinkled, tangled, or poorly stored fabric that would require significant cleaning or pressing.
“Grandma’s attic” or estate stashes over ~200 yards — we’re a small space and can’t accommodate full collection donations.
Sew Haven LTD and its employees reserve the right to decline or deny any material for any reason. Acceptance is determined at staff discretion based on the material’s type, condition, and suitability for resale or reuse within the Stash Bash program.
